Note: Tuition is paid in monthly installments due on the 1st of each month for that month's lessons (The first payment is due at or before the students first lesson or class). Failure to provide payment by the 15th of the month will result in a $15 late fee. If due to unforeseen circumstances you need to withdraw your student we ask for one months notice. The Academy reserves the right to cancel and/or deny lessons for payments not received.
Instruments & Curriculum:
The Academy does not provide instruments or curriculum. Each student will need to provide his/her own instrument and other accessories as required by the instructor. The instructor will inform parents and student of any needed curriculum, including music, method books and theory books and those will need to be purchased by the students in a timely manner and brought to class.
We believe that recitals are an important part of any students learning experience! The recital is a great opportunity for students to showcase the hard work they’ve spent the year doing. Each Spring, the Academy will host a Recital at the end of the semester that we expect each student to participate in. We will give the date at the beginning of the semester so that you can get it on your calendar! Some of our fall classes may also have a Showcase performance at the close of the semester. Those will be scheduled early in the semester as well to give ample time for planning.
Safety/Security Policies – Private Lessons:
A parent, or family member age 18 or older, must be present and in the room with any student under the age of 18 for the entirety of the lesson. If a parent or adult cannot be present, parents are responsible for notifying the Academy office at least 2 hours prior to lesson time so arrangements for another lesson time or location can be made. If a student shows up without a parent, please notify the Worship Office immediately. Under no circumstances is a teacher to be alone in a classroom with a child. Please wait in a public area for a solution. If no solution is available within the first 10 minutes of the students less time, the lesson will be forfeited at the expense of the student. Lessons will end at the scheduled time, even if they start late due to lack of parent/adult present.
Attendance Policies – Private Lessons:
Private lessons are scheduled by the teacher according to his/her schedule and classroom availability and a parent must stay in the room with the student during our private lessons. 24 hours notice must be given in order for absence to be excused, and two excused absences per semester may be made up. If less than 24 hours notice is received, the absence is considered unexcused and the lesson will not be made up, except for emergencies as agreed upon by the parent, teacher, and academy. There are no refunds for unexcused absences. Lessons will not be made up if they are missed or denied due to late or outstanding payment. Students are responsible for paying for all lessons in the semester, regardless of attendance. Students who are 10 or more minutes late for their lessons without notifying their instructor and the Academy office will be considered absent and to have forfeited their lesson. Instructors are under no obligation to make up late lesson time. If running a few minutes late, please make your best effort to contact the instructor and/or Academy office if you do not want to lose your lesson spot. The instructor is under no obligation to extend lessons that begin late due to student tardiness. If an instructor is late, the lesson time will be extended and other students informed of a later start time to accommodate. If a students schedule changes during the semester and their lesson time no longer works, permanent rescheduling is subject to the instructors availability and may not be able to be accommodated. If a student no longer wants to continue lessons, they are required to notify the Academy office, in writing, 30 days in advance. They are responsible for all lesson fees during that 30 day time. If an instructor needs to be absent or cancel a lesson due to illness, extreme emergency or death in the family, that lesson will be made up within the same semester or refunded at the Academy office’s discretion.
Attendance Policies – Group Lessons:
Due to the nature of group classes, we will not be able to issue refunds or schedule make up classes for any individual missing any class. Students are responsible for paying for all lessons in the semester, regardless of attendance. Classes cannot be prorated due to vacation or school schedules. If a student no longer wants to continue lessons, they are required to notify the Academy office, in writing, 30 days in advance. They are responsible for all lesson fees during that 30-day time. If an instructor needs to be absent or cancel a lesson due to illness, extreme emergency or death in the family, that lesson will be made up within the same semester.
